James White wrote on the topic of the prophecies of Matthew 24 a number of times.
The first publication came in the 1860’s, and was 31 pages in length. In 1871 the work was expanded to 80 pages, and included the discussion of the Ten Virgin parable of Matthew 25. In 1876 and 1880 this work was reprinted, with some minor revisions, and leaving out the prophetic interpretation of the Ten Virgin parable.
In this edition, I have followed the 1871 work, but also included some of the revisions from 1876/1880. I have retained the explanation of the Ten Virgins parable, as it is a very important part of the history of the Advent movement. Only in the light of the Adventist understanding of last-day events, does the parable of the Ten Virgins make sense in all its details.
