IN the first half of 2018, Andreas gave a series of Sabbath studies on the principles of the Bible regarding education of children.
The first book published in the Sabbath Rest Advent Church, concerning children, was Child Salvation, by F. T. Wright, printed in 1987. That book dealt mainly with the importance of the new birth, and how to bring that to children; and the importance of bringing the principles of God’s character into the government of the family.
These current studies go deeper into the family order. They cover some of the different aspects of God’s kingdom: heartfelt
obedience, honesty, justice, love, equality, unity, and service; and apply those to the family with very practical examples.
It is, in essence, a study of the spiritual aspects of the Patriarchal Order as implemented by Abraham, the “father of the faithful.” These studies show how we, like Abraham, can lead our families in such a way that there will be “no oppression on the part of parents and no disobedience on the part of children.” 468p
