South Australia – God’s Answer to the Image of the Beast
These studies were presented at the yearly camp meeting in South Australia, December 25, 1992 to January 2, 1993. The camp was presented by Andreas Dura, who wrote in the January 1993 Messenger and News Review:
The theme here was the same as in the rest of the world field. We found it especially fitting that we received more light about God’s answer to the image of the beast in our present situation. This gave us the assurance that the Lord is not surprised by anything.
One thing that we studied, however, was new, and we would like to relate it in brief here. After studying the role of the messenger in gospel order our attention has now been drawn to the Church and her role. To reject the voice of the church when the presence of God is manifestly in her, also means to reject Christ. When the Church is united and filled with the Spirit, she receives authority from Christ so that what she does on earth is confirmed in heaven. This is not an arbitrary, human church authority but the authority of the divine voice which educates in love, warns, and if possible, wins.
During this camp I also presented a new constitution to the church which explains our charity status to the world. Such a constitution is necessary for the state, in its various departments, to be able to assess us correctly. All the members present were able to consent to this constitution which fittingly describes our principles of operation.
